What it costs.
Starting prices, published, so you know before you write the email whether this is the right range. Every number below is a floor for real work, not a teaser.
Three kinds of work, three floors.
The same three categories as the overview page, each with the price a real job starts at.
Web
from$3,500
A website you own, built to load fast and read well on a phone.
- Up to six pages
- Mobile and speed tuned
- Search and share setup
- Contact or booking that works
A local market or trade business with products, hours and a reason to call. E-commerce and customer logins sit above this floor.
Connect
from$2,500
Two systems that don't talk, made to talk, on a schedule you can trust.
- One integration or data pipeline
- Scheduled or on-demand runs
- An alert when it fails
- Written runbook for your team
Inventory from the POS to the website nightly, or a report that builds itself instead of being rebuilt by hand every Monday.
Build
from$8,000
Software made for how your business actually works, when the off-the-shelf tool doesn't fit.
- A first version you can really use
- Logins and roles for your staff
- Your data in your own accounts
- Training and a clean handover
Quoting and estimating, inventory and catalogs, employee scheduling, an internal dashboard that retires a spreadsheet.
These are starting prices, not quotes. A quote comes after I have seen the file, the system or the page, and it is a fixed number with a written list of what is in it. Nobody gets an hourly surprise at the end.
What moves the number.
- Scope How many screens, reports or steps the thing has. This is the biggest factor by a distance.
- Systems Every system we have to talk to brings its own surprises. Two is not twice the work of one, it is more.
- Data A clean spreadsheet is fast. Fifteen years of history in four different formats is the slow part of most projects.
- Users One person using it in the back office is simpler than a hundred customers with their own logins.
- Timing A normal schedule costs what was quoted. Moving other work aside to go first costs more, and I will say so up front.
Other ways to work.
- Hourly Fixes, changes and jobs too small to be a project. Billed in half hours, with no minimum and no retainer to buy first. $125 / hr
- Care plan Hosting, updates, backups and monitoring, plus a standing hour each month for small changes. Cancel in any month and the site stays yours. from $95 / mo
- Site audit The deep version of the free check: your whole site rather than one page, written up in priority order with what each fix is worth. Credited back in full if you hire me for the work. $450
How billing works.
-
The scope goes in writing
You get a fixed price and a list of what is in it before any money moves. If the list changes later, the price changes with it, in writing, before the work happens.
-
Half up front
Fifty percent starts the work. That deposit is also what holds your slot against the three-project cap.
-
Half when it ships
The balance is due when the thing is working and in your hands, not at a milestone only I can see.
-
Then it is yours
Code, accounts and hosting go into your name. Keep me on a care plan or take it and go. Either answer is a fine answer.
What the price is not.
- Not the cheapest. There is always someone on a marketplace who will build it for a few hundred dollars. What you are paying for here is that the person who quotes the work is the person who writes the code and the person who answers the email in a year.
- Not an agency rate either. The same work quoted by a Cleveland shop usually carries a project manager, an account lead and their overhead. There is one person on this invoice.
- Not a subscription you can't leave. The care plan is month to month and the work is yours whether you keep it or not. Nothing here is rented back to you.
- Not padded with hours. Fixed price means the risk of a project running long is mine, not yours. That is also why the scope gets written down first.
Get a real number.
Send the spreadsheet, the report, or the page that is taking too long and I will come back with a fixed price. If the budget and the job do not line up, you hear that in the first reply rather than after an hour of your time.

Useful things to include: what the file does, who uses it, what happens when it breaks, and what you had in mind to spend.
